2006 Deviation Road Pinot Gris

The nose was very tight, but I did get some tropical fruit, some lemon, and a hint of floral notes toward the end. The palate was crisp, and had tropical fruit, citrus, pear, and a nice finish of spice and flowers.

2006 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

I let this wine breath for 5 hours.

The nose had a pretty heavy dose of cherry, but this was tamed a little by the dried herbs and dirt that followed. It ended with some nice licorice and strawberry. The palate was silky and a little sweet, with a nice cherry and strawberry mixture, a hint of dirt, and a finish that had some nice tartness.

2006 Domaine Servin Chablis Premier Cuvee Les Pargues

The nose had apple, pear, and stone. The palate was crisp, with good minerality, and had very rich flavors of apple, and a floral finish.

2006 De Wetshof Chardonnay Bon Vallon

A nice nose of apple, lime, and stone. The palate was rich and crisp, and had good lime and minerality.

2005 Surh Luchtel Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard

The nose had toasty oak, blackberry, and a bit of rhubarb and orange. The palate had blackberry and raspberry pie, and finished with a little spice.

2005 Paul Hobbs Chardonnay Russian River Valley

A lovely nose of toast, pine nuts, apple, and pear. The palate had pear and almonds, and finished with a tasty citrus and butter mix.

2006 The Australian Premium Wine Collection Pinot Noir Hill of Content

The nose had a whole lot of plum aromas mixed with some cherry and a little smoked meat. The palate had cherry and plum, plus some earth, and finished with spice and meat.

2005 Two Hands Shiraz Sophie’s Garden

The nose had nice plum and cherry, plus earth and stone. The palate was too hot, but it did have plum, earth, and a little spice.

2007 Bodegas Adria Bierzo The Pilgrimage

The nose had a good amount of stone, plus a little apple and peach. The palate was crisp, with lots of minerality, as ewll as chalk, apple, and peach.

2006 Cooperativo Bodegas San Gregorio Calatayud Papa Luna

The nose had raspberry, cherry, vanilla, and dried herbs. The palate was hot, with good acidity, and had raspberry and spice.
