The nose had a lot going on. Licorice, celery, cucumber, forest floor, blackberry, and chocolate covered cherries. The palate was soft, and had earth, brussels sprout, asparagus, chocolate, and a black currant finish.

I decanted this wine about 5 1/2 hours.

The nose begins with an enticing mix of raspberry and chocolate covered cherries, which slowly fades into baking spice, and finally turns to an asparagus and broccoli medley. The palate has a nice balance between red fruit and green vegetables, and finishes with a little spicy oak.
