I let this wine breath for about 6 hours.

The nose had lots of black cherry, with hints of cloves and a bit of cinnamon underneath. It ended with some toasty oak. The palate was silky and a little sweet, and had cherry and grapefruit, a little spice, and a very good earth and oak finish.

A fascinating nose of cherry and raspberry, plus a little chocolate and butterscotch. The palate was a mixture of cherry and raspberry jam with some cinnamon and mocha on the finish.

I decanted this wine about 5 hours.

The nose is a cherry and strawberry explosion. Underneath is a subtle forest floor aroma, a little nutmeg and cinnamon, and a finish of vanilla. The palate is soft and juicy, and has sour cherry, anise, and earth. It finishes with a big dose of nutmeg and sweet tannins.

The nose had a delicious mix of cocoa powder and blackberry jam. It also had some tobacco and vanilla. In the mouth it was rich and big, with tobacco layered by cassis, plum, raspberry, and vanilla. It finished with a nice cinnamon flavor.

I decanted this wine about 4 1/2 hours.

This is one sexy Pinot! The nose starts off with some nice black cherry which gently flows to baking spice. Finally, there are secondary aromas of wild strawberry, vanilla, and cinnamon. In the mouth it is velvety and rich, with more black cherry, nutmeg, and hints of brown sugar. The finish has a nice forest flavor and good acidity.

I had this with an Amy’s Cheese Enchilada Dinner. The food gave the wine a nice meatiness and really accentuated the mild earthy tones in the wine.
