2001 Laird Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain Ranch

The nose had a nice rose petals, spice and nut mixture that was followed by black currant and cigar box aromas. The palate was very smooth and had black currant and cedar, and finished with a little earth and spice.

2006 William James Cellars Pinot Noir Garey Ranch Vineyard

I decanted this wine about 5 hours.

A very nice and straight down the line Pinot nose. I got cherry and earth, plus a little spice and vanilla. It ended with some floral notes. The palate was smooth and sweet, with cherry and strawberry, and a finish of rose petals and spice.

2006 Whitcraft Pinot Noir Aubaine Vineyard

I decanted this wine about 4 hours.

This wine was really dark. I couldn’t even see my fingers through it. You could really tell how extracted it was on the nose. Lots of cherry, lots of cola, and lots of forest floor. It ended with a little rose petals and vanilla. The palate was very polished and had bing cherries and rose petals. It finishes with bit of forest floor and spice.

2006 Whitcraft Pinot Noir

I decanted this wine about 5 hours.

The nose shows massive amounts of cherry cola intermingled with forest floor aromas. It slowly evolves to brown spice, and finishes with a little bit of rose petals. In the mouth it is very smooth, and has the same cherry cola/earth mixture as the nose. It finishes with a nice spice and dirt mix.

2001 Soter Brut Rosé Beacon Hill

The nose was fairly simple – just rose petals and strawberry. The palate was very different from the nose. It had earth and little yeast, along with spice and some floral notes. It finished with just a touch of strawberry.

2002 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

There was a nice plum liqueur aroma on the nose that faded to rose petals and then to vanilla. The palate was smooth, and had wild red berries, tobacco, and some dark chocolate.
